Daddy you always wanted me to see through your eyes,
hear through your ear,
think with your mind....

You yelled when my skirt was too short,
You cringed when my cleavage did show,
When my blonde hair had streaks of pink and blue....
you nearly pulled out the rest of yours.

When I wore make-up I heard you disapprove,
I cried when you told me I was too tall for heels,
I understood all the comments you made,
And knew what you thought I would do when I went out on dates.

Daddy, now that you are gone,
there is something you should have always known.

I have always seen through your eyes,
heard with your ears,
and thought with your mind.

How could I be anything but my Daddy's little girl?

Evocative!

Somehow no matter how old daughters get; we still think of them as 'Daddy's little girls.' I loved this poem ~ what Daddy wouldn't? Lovely Read!

With that title, the first 'Daddy' is a distraction, as are the ellipses. Nice potential here.
