If you could have three wishes,
What would you wish for?
Would you wish for the ordinary?
Or would it be the unachievable?
Or maybe the unlikely?

Would you wish for riches, glory and fame?
For mythical beasts, a unicorn or a dragon?

Would you wish for the expected?
A fancy car, loads of money?
In the end they’d all be wasted wishes.
Think of the wishes that wouldn’t be wasted.

A young woman unable to have children,
Wishes for the one thing she wants most,
A dying man wishes for a cure.

So if you had three wishes,
What would you wish for?
Maybe things that aren’t just for you,
Or would your wishes be wasted?

Thoughtful...

Such a perfect rendering for the Holiday Season. How we wish that three wishes really could be brought to pass.

wishes

are not to be wasted. Your take of givig to others instead of yourself is very thoughtful. Nice write!

A thoughtful piece ~ wishes, like money;

Those that don't have them, have 'better' ideas on how to use them;

But those that have them know the price they paid to get them;

Values {like wishes} are such a tricky second-guessing thing.
