I cannot breathe

Sitting here about to explode

No one around me can see

No one really knows

The pain hurts so deep

The lonliness inside

At times I want to weep

These feelings I have to hide

I cannot show my pain

I will not show my Fears

And no one will ever see

My eyes shedding any tears

From the time when I was small

These feelings have been hid

Locked down deep inside

Protecting me as a kid

Through the years Ive learned

To put on a happy smile

So others cannot discern

The pain of a tormented child

~~

A lifetime of repressions becomes a hidden art,

Presenting illusion as reality.
