Underfoot, twigs bend and crack
The leaves come drifting down
Red and orange, purple black
Carpeting the hidden track
A chilly gust across the back
Guides me through Autumns brown.

The snowy road that lies ahead
Would take me past your home
I go the other way instead
Footprints mark the path I tread
Moonlit shadows, stalking dread
Through Winter woods I roam.

Warmer wind drifts through the air
Yellow petals will unfold
Loping wild without care
Meadows lush and full of hare
Scent of promise, all beware
Springs abundance tinged with gold.

Through all the seasons we endure
Now come we to our goal
Children frolick, eagles soar
Elders warmed to deepest core
Fish will dance in rivers roar
Insect choir sings their score
Wish it lasts forevermore
The Summer of the wolfen soul.
