The dreams of yesterday,
All gone away.
The dreams of tomorrow,
Waiting to be free.
To fly around and live,
Not caged in my head,
Only to be thought of.
The dreams of now,
Caught in a membrane,
Almost free but not quite.
Scratching the membrane thinner,
Day by day working at escaping,
To be free is all they want.
Although embedded deeply,
They all need to be released.
All colorful wings fluttering constantly,
Tapping around inside my skull,
Waiting to be set free,
Wanting to exist.
As one day it will happen,
They will all be released,
And work their wonder so needed,
And use themselves up,
To become more dreams of yesterday.
