With defiant fingers I hold yours in mine.
My heart swimming in misery, I turn back the hands of time.

Every word is respoken and every heartbeat pounds once more,
The feelings are anew and alive in my inner core.

You are happy like you once were,
Before you slipped away from me to shelter her.

As me eyes refocus, time comes rushing back,
Empty promises echo within , my body to surely rack.

Unshed tears flow freely now with heartache their only escape,
Destiny shone for a brief moment, but my heart it did surely take.
