like snowflakes falling to earth,
forest floor, our carpet
the book of poems rest on delicate fingers
Petals crushed between my fingers
fragrant with perfume
content to lie on my side
listening,
your voice like song
pervading my senses
You smile,
closing the book
sealing inside silky petals -
reminders of this moment,
as you lie down beside me
Fingertips seeking out your face
gliding beneath your chin
pulling you closer
Lips as soft as the petals
that soon cover us
cloaking us in an immortal embrace
