where all meaning fades what then remains
of thought
to hang our promise on
draped form revealed
uncaring change
unclasped the day as measured stay

what then remains where direction fades
of long walked ways
returned in vain
to place of joining
paths embraced
in inward reach of boundless space

what then remains where feeling fades
of outer surface
tossed by waves
in grasp released
to find spread arms
compassion welcomes stillness deep

what then remains where striving fades
of forgotten echo
accolades
a rhythms beat
of heart felt song
in rising trumpet will made strong

where all knowing fades what then remains
of opened eyes
unclouded pane a window
tinted glass replaced
of sparkling vision
songs to grace, all things unhidden
