How may I serve thee, oh lady fair?
When thy sweet eyes and even sweeter lips
Distract me from my duties.

O! How thy beauty shadows the sun!
Even the Fae look away in shame
when they bear witness to thy smile.

Let it be said that no constellation
Can compare to the sparkle of her eyes.

Let no envious maid dampen the sea
Of golden tresses she wears as a crown.

And let no saint cry foul to the gods
For bestowing upon her such sheer perfection.

Dost thou doubt my love?
If so, shalt I claw my heart out from my chest
To prove my sincerity?

For those words are engraved in me
As clearly as the midday sun.

Thou hast bewitched me;
Cast a spell so I can ne’er be free.

O! ‘Tis the night beckoning the dawn!
Canst thou see the moon retreating to Her chamber?

Test my love on the morrow, I beg of thee;
Thus, should my love be proven true,
I shalt cast off my old skin and be reborn anew.

the feel

of this appeals, gives the reader something different, in a good sense. Some really beautiful lines. If I was an editor I might put a question mark next to a couple of them. But then again, they became what they did when they did and maybe they should be left be.
