My best friend
The one I always
Told all my secrets to
You held me
On prom night
When he stood me up
Laughed with me
Sang with me
You were the best thing
To ever come into my life
So how did this happen?
Why did' t I see the signs?
Why am I here
Why am I reading your suicide note?

So many happy moments
Always together
Just the two of us
I never saw
I never knew
Behind your smile
There lurked a pain I could't feel
A pain you hid from us all
Until you took a step
Over the edge
Now none of us can help you
None of us can believe
We're standing here
Standing at a lonely grave
Reading your suicide note?

Sitting in your empty room
I go through your things and the memories
Tears sliding slowly
Down my face
As I hold
What was your once
Your favorite teddy bear
Do you remember?
The one I gave you
For your 16th birthday
You named him Mr. Fuzzy
Promised you would cherish him forever
Wish that I'd known then
What I know now
It would be the last time
I would ever see you alive again

If only I'd known my friend
I would have given you a hug
Just to show
Yes, there was someone who cared
Someone who loved you
Maybe that would have saved your life
I don't know
All I know is
I wish that I was't here
I wish that you had't left me
So far behind
I wish I was't......

Reading your suicide note
