I wrote this one evening after reading in some would-be medieval story about how so many poems praising women's beauty start with "My lady's eyes/Are like the skies", and how boring that theme is.

That sort of attitude ticks me off, so I came up with my own version of the theme. I tried to keep to the style, at least as I understood it - but that last line just insisted on staying as it is.

*

Watching, waiting,
Seeking, tempting.
Burning fire,
Raging desire.
Luminous shrine,
Deeply divine,
Forever lies
In my Lady's eyes.
