Don't you just love it when life hits you
With the rock you're trying to hide under?
It lets you down,
Then pokes you in the eye.
Watching self help videos,
Because no one else wants to help.
Look for a new spot to kick you in,
Because the other spots have gone numb.
Can't pull out the old knives fast enough,
To make room for the new ones rushing in.
The forgotten carcass of childhood,
Floating under the sludge of adulthood.
The bullets of loneliness that careen in,
Have staggeringly accurate soul seeking capabilities.
The right things to say in certain situations,
Makes one gag on thought of having to suck it up again.
