What if…
It were possible
To choose both
To have both
To teeter perfectly balanced
Between two loves.

What if…
It were possible
To be both
Light and darkness
Strength and weakness
Control and Surrender.

What if…
I could have both
Serving one
Served by the other
Giving all
Taking all.

What if…
I could balance
In the middle
Existing in both worlds
Dichotomy
Duality.

What if…
I loved both
Would I be enhanced
Or diminished?
Is the sum of three
Greater than two?

What if…
Once balanced
On the blade’s edge
Should I sway?
Pulled and pushed
By the whims of my loves.

What if…
I danced on the precipice
Wild with abandon.
Would my loves
Hold me steady
Or pull me down?

What if…
My strength failed.
My heart weakened.
And I should tumble
Falling
Entangled, Entwined.

What if…
I took both with me
Falling
Into the depths,
Destroying both
In my own catastrophe.

What if…
I wish too much
In my dreams
Reach too far
And break three hearts
Losing everything.
