International confusion
began in an old fashioned glass
where vodka met by the intrusion
considered by it’s namesake, crass.

A coffee flavored sweet liquor
could make a Russian much sicker
when mixed with vodka over ice.
Who thought of such a sick device?

American! I had assumed
yet Belgian barman was to blame
this drink made for a U.S. dame!
And all who like it sweet I presume?

So here ends this brief discussion
By name alone your drink is "Russian."

the scourge of drink and form

Personally I think the mixing of drinks is a contamination of the spirit and no red blooded Russian would contaminate his vodka! I thought I'd been drinking because your poem didn't flow until I realized it was a form poem and what do I know about form poetry. I gave you five because you deserve it for making words that make sense fit the form. ;-)
