The top story that has shocked the nation
from coast to coast, sweeping aside all others,
is nearing it's inevitable conclusion.
The plaintiff, know by many aliases, stood
head unbowed unrepentant
as the judge asked for any last words.

I learnt my craft from many,
no I can't reveal their names,
but I'm sure they will remember though
it's easier to forget.
Was from them I took my lessons
no gerrunding, don't ellipse
above all else remember the plot, the plot!
just let me take a breath.
I can see now from your faces how
my words distress you so
but I really must continue before
it's time for me to go.
There I made a classic faux pas
and I swore I never would,
please forgive me all for rhyming
I know it's not the form.
You look at me with shock now and shout out
take her down, my banner limp and bleeding
I won't hang my head in shame.
