The Phoenix rises
From the ashes
Of her cold, dead past
Great-winged
Strong-hearted
Sharp-eyed, steel-claws and beak
She can hunt now
For herself
And protect herself-or others at need
Sunset colored
She spirals high
And screams her triumph to the skies
Renewed-reborn-risen
Past lives
Past tears and fears
New pearl
And diamond
Raindrops fall
Full measure
Overflowing
Poured out in abundance
And her joy echoes
'tween crystal skies
And spun gold clouds
But knows no other like
