If this is love and not an odd
Deceit spun by a jealous God,
When will my doubting heart conceive
The truth of it and so believe?

If this is love, pure love, not just
Another term we use for lust,
Why does each thought of you conspire
To tempt me with perverse desire?

If this is love and not a curse,
A madness , mania or worse,
Will you in your physician’s guise
Return the sense I now despise?

If this is love, not some disease
That brings me, vanquished, to my knees –
If this is love, why must it be
We all endure such agony?

We never know for sure until we trust enough to give and hope, love and lust live together anyway?!!
