here in bed
with my cup of joe
wondering where
my mind will go
never know where
it will wander
what points
it will ponder,

life and death?
love and taxes?
in the desert
a thorny cactus,
waiting for
the coming rain
flowing water
keeps me sane,

at least saner
than I might be
is that a mirage
that I see,
is that you
in the haze
floating there
nights and days,

bit of a ringing
in my ear
my reflection
the bedroom mirror,
thoughts of you
where were we?
what did we do
what did we see?
