Shades of Blue

The colors simply blend
As Mother Earth sheds her skin
Preparing herself for the cold within
Becoming shades of blue
Clouds breathe the sky
In careless white
Feeling unbound freedom
In rapturous flight
Soft and light they prepare for night
Becoming shades of blue
Storms darken the horizon
Winds swirl and blow
Bringing legions of change
Swift and Cold, growing old
Becoming shades of blue
Tree's of green, yellow and red
Grow Barren instead
As leaves fall and decay
Darkened bark slips away
Becoming shades of blue
Snow falls at night
Blankets of white
Crisp, clean and serene
Diamonds sparkle in this cold scene
Becoming shades of blue
Fight for survival
The struggle to breathe
Cold takes over
Spreading her chill
We bend to her will
Becoming shades of blue
The moon has forsaken me
as my heart slows
my blood runs cold
deep sleep is my wish
as this season persists
For Winter 's Arriving and
I am Becoming Shades of Blue
