Saturday morning
here in my brain
I listen, the sound
of the falling rain,
cat asleep
at the foot of the bed
she might be alive
she might be dead,

How are you doing
so far to The East
slaying the dragon
confronting the beast,
charging forth
Don Quixote ease
I read, again
your e-mail tease,

'run off with me
to the Land of Oz'
(after signing an
Indemnity Clause),
we'll fly First Class
or Economy Plus
mess around
in the back of the bus,

Carry only
the essentials for life
a cork screw
on a Swiss Army Knife,
a book of phrases
in the local lingo
who knows
the places we'll go,

I see us now
out on The Road
eating the fruit
from seeds we sowed,
so sweet, with juice
dripping down our chin
we smile, agree
let's do it again,
