am i alone? one who ponders
that moribund couture

of construction paper cutout grey haired men in black

all baggy in tee-shirts itinerant ragged
like a wrinkled flock of soup kitchen hobos

who came up with that gig?
too embarrassed to laugh

but if I imagine, just a moment
paisley prints, love beads, perhaps – platform shoes?

can't but help myself
to one, seriously fashionable laugh

Nice little uplifting poem.

Ditto on Chip's comment

This is good, not perfect (though no poems here--or anywhere--are), but it is wry and has vivid imagery that will make me want to read more from you.

this

gave me a wry smile as the narrator helps themselves to a 'seriously fashionable laugh'.
