Click hereThe black bitch wags its mud crusted tail
At something the little girl has found
Next to a rust covered trailer
Missing its skirt like a green-sleeves whore
Servicing state fair farm cocks quickly
Behind a stained yellow tent in October.
Frost with wood smoke and odor of fried dough
Told us that winter was coming.
Of course it did and hasn't left yet
On Skunk Hollow Road in April
Where suddenly someone shouts out,
Sticking her head outside a storm window,
Grimacing at the girl and her dog
Whose tail will freeze again tonight
When they chain her to one of the junks,
Hoods up, next to the snowmobile
By which the little girl tosses her find
Or saves it perhaps amid the rubble
To rub a belly that's downside up
Where even the grit is upside down.
to pen up a feral spirit should be an omen, TK U MLJ LV NV
I had to read this several times to decipher the ambiguous lines. It reads as if the little girl is left tied to the junks. The clue the dog is female is left behind in the first line. This is a cascade of stark images, but too much is left between the lines.
not much fun, kind of reminds me of Bukowski taking lessons from Frost
Kind of makes me ask the question...
Whose tail will freeze again tonight?
OK, enuff of my nonsense.
Why "perhaps"?
Actually the element of uncertainty doesn't work for me, the distance is too great, "tosses her find", what find? oh that "something the little girl has found"
"like a green-sleeves whore Servicing state fair farm cocks quickly Behind a stained yellow tent in October." kind of stretches the simile for a trailer missing a skirt.
As a matter a fact, I'd swear you've been reading my stuff. Proximity patterning works best in short grammatical structures. Or you've been reading Shakespeare, who would have taken some of it out of the Anglo-Saxon.
Or I could be completely wrong. I gave you a 5, you got some nice stuff.
