With a loaded gun
she drove to town
asked if he
had been around,
no one seemed
to know much
couple guys
had a hunch,
that he’d left
gone out west
as anyone
might have guessed,

So she had
a couple beers
watched the guys
in the mirrors,
of the bar
early eve
decided finally
she should leave,

Walking out
a guy said ‘hey’
wondered ‘bout
the time of day,
she had no watch
but said ‘just seven’
followed her out
and by eleven,

Drank a six-pack
shot the cans
all to hell
with both hands,
out of bullets
out of beer
a drunken kiss
he held her near,

She felt his breath
his groping hand
undo her pants
her promised land,
on the hood
of her truck
he asked her if
she’d like to fuck,
she wasn’t sure
but said ok
and felt him
go all the way,

She took her clothes
her empty gun
told him thanks
for the fun,
no big surprise
one could have guessed
she packed a bag
and headed west,

Yeeee - Haaa

Great story, lyrically written. Brilliant opening and closing stanzas. The ones in between were pretty good too.
