Click hereI am gone from here.
I have left this earth,
And found myself on the plains
Where Gods walked amongst their creation.
I have found myself amongst the flowers;
The petals who knew what love was,
And poisoned all those who touched them,
Drowning them in cheap infatuation.
I have found myself amongst the hummingbirds,
Tinged green and darting for life,
Their wings ever humming alive
With muted songs of beating hearts.
I have seen the beasts who walk
In perfect harmony with Nature;
Burgeoning chaos and endless cycles,
The brutal crone and the loving mother.
And I have seen the air breathing,
The ground churning while fires burn,
The water raging and calm,
All pinned by the inexplicable.
But I am beyond the infatuated flower,
And the chaotic beasts,
And the humming of the hummingbird heart.
Beyond even the balanced elements.
For I am still lost in these climes,
These places; these new and ever ancient sensations,
Burning with passion and ice,
That you have overwhelmed me with.
And I could only dive in,
If you were to dive with me.
many years ago here in India a famous playback singer Kishore Kumar wrote & composed a haunting ballad which is still popular to this day ----AAMI NEI which in Bengali means I am Not !
today Kishoreda is no longer with us but in his music he is immortal so is your poem O clarkcrow , so is your I am Gone ---even when you will truly be gone future generations will hum this song ,this poem & you will be immortalized !
As I told you before...I'm not a poetry reader but I read this one because I am getting to know you. You invoked some very vivid imagery. I liked this poem.
Great poem, interesting and captivating images and thoughts.
Strong ending.
