After stopping to buy snacks for the weekend the trio of friends - who were an odd looking mixture - eventually arrived at the loch just as the clouds darkened and the rain started. The drive up had been a slow torturous one. The traffic was horrible due to a massive crash on the motorway and there was a tension between the friends who had basically sat in silence throughout the whole journey. Amethyst decided that enough was enough, she was not going to spend the weekend, raining or not, miserable. It wasn't often that the three of them really had the chance to do something other than order pizza and watch films. She grabbed Harvey's shoulders making him jump slightly.

She chuckled "Aw come on Harvey, I'm not that scary, cheer up."

She shot Jareth a cheeky grin "That goes for you too, huffy." Jareth looked at Amethyst and snorted with contempt at the comment before proceeding to take off his seat belt and storming out of the car. At this display of temper Harvey shrugged Amethyst's paws off his shoulders and sighed.

Amethyst felt a little rejected and with a groan she un-clicked her own seat belt "I guess that means we are getting checked in then?" she said as climbed out of the car.

Amethyst stood beside the car and let the heavy rain pass over her as she took in her surroundings before running to catch up with Jareth. The building in front of her was a dismal sight to behold. It was a large grey, gloomy looking building that looked considerably older than the cabins, caravans and tents that surrounded it. The reception area stood out against the greenery and looked like it did not belong anywhere near a loch camp-site. Harvey remained in the car, grinning to himselfwhat she doesn't know.He figured he should join his two friends in the reception, and was disappointed to see that the receptionist was a very plain looking tabby cat with mousy coloured hair that hung limply on her shoulders, which ruined his fantasy that all receptionists were good looking. He walked over and gave Jareth a rough but playful nudge, nearly knocking the slight fox off his feet.

Amethyst stood, leaning with her back to the receptionist and watched with some amusement the resulting display of macho posturing. Suppressing a laugh she reached for the tourist information leaflets and flicked through them absently while she watched the variety of furs that were coming and going. Amethyst muttered to herself aware that the boys couldn't hear her or in fact even cared to listen. It wasn't until Jareth waved a paw in front of her that Amethyst snapped out of her day dream.

"Hmm? I take it that's us sorted?"

"Yeah. First game starts at 8pm tonight. We have to be here for 7.45 and we have been given one of the recently renovated cabins. Now let's get a move on!" Jareth explained.

Amethyst, Jareth and Harvey found their cabin. It was nothing spectacular, just a standard log cabin, but it would serve it's purpose for the weekend. Harvey couldn't help but grunt with disapproval at the state of the relatively small building.

"Recently renovated? obviously that means it's been given a lick of paint to hide the cracks!"

Amethyst shot Harvey a filthy look, she was starting to get annoyed at the attitude the boys were adopting "Don't be so pessimistic, it's better than sitting about like we always do."

With that she turned to Jareth and asked for the keys. She really was not about to let a bit of rain and a long journey ruin the weekend. Those two could be miserable all they liked, she was not going to waste any of her own energy fighting with them or trying to cheer them up. She leaned her hip against the large wooden door, that was painted an off white colour, and balanced her bags with one arm as she fiddled with the key chain to unlock the door. There was a satisfying clunk and the door creaked open just a notch. Amethyst gave the door a bump with her hip causing it to swing wide open. Taking a few steps forward Amethyst chucked her two bags to the polished floor with a heavy thud. She sighed deeply, blowing her hair out of her face. By this point Amethyst was totally unaware of the others, as she wandered around the reasonable sized cabin taking in everything around her. She was blind to the fact that they were flirting shamelessly with each other, or more to the point that Harvey was doing the flirting while Jareth was totally oblivious to it.

The small group picked their rooms, had a quick look around and were now standing on the balcony chatting and admiring the view. The rain had eased off and the evening was set to be breezy but dry, which had put the boys in a slightly better mood. Amethyst looked at her watch, 7pm.

"Time to get ourselves ready then." She said, brushing her paw against Jareth's stomach as she passed him.

Amethyst unpacked her guns and started to fill the magazines with BB pellets. She double checked everything before she started to layer on the clothing for the game. The weather may have dried up but it was still cold and the more layers she had on the better protected she was from Beeb shots. She finished buttoning the camouflage shirt and rummaged in her bag for the bandanna she always wore during games. It was the only thing that kept her hair out of her eyes. Satisfied that she was ready Amethyst wandered back out to the balcony.

While Amethyst was getting ready Harvey decided to use the time to get much closer to Jareth. Harvey was by no means gay or even bisexual but he wanted to test how strong the relationship between his friends really was, especially because he was so jealous of what they had. He couldn't deny, however, that hanging around with Amethyst and Jareth had an odd effect on him. Being around them made him want to explore and experiment with his own sexual desires. Harvey stood at the barrier of the balcony closely watching and admiring every tiny move that Jareth made. He felt more than a little excited when Jareth stood next to him at the barrier. As Jareth chatted away about how Amethyst was so caring and hyper that it sometimes bugged him, Harvey found it harder to contain the bulge that was forming in his trousers. He tried to maintain the conversation by muttering well timed phrases of assurance showing that he was still listening despite the internal battle with his urge to pounce the grey fox. He deliberately moved closer to Jareth, just a little at first then slightly more so that the two furs were practically touching. The electricity and excitement between the two friends was so intense that Jareth stopped talking and looked deep into Harvey's eyes, he too felt a rise in his trousers. The fox and the coyote's muzzles were so close to each other that both boys could feel the warmth of the others breath blowing lightly through their face fur. Harvey ran his tongue along his teeth and wet his lips which caused Jareth to stir and do the same. Just as the two canines started to move a little closer to each other they were disturbed by a voice and practically jumped apart.

"I hope you two weren't getting into any trouble out here."

Amethyst had watched the whole scene play out right before her eyes but was determined to play dumb and leave it up to them to tell her what had went on. She knew perfectly well what she had seen but she wanted to hear it from them.

"It's like 7.30 guys, hurry up and get ready. Don't want to miss the start of the game."

not consistant

there are several bits that aren't consistant with the earlier chapters. for instance are jareth & amber persuing harvey or not? that is a major plot line that has switched in this chapter. i suggest an editor or reading the chapters through as a whole before submitting. it should help grammer, flow, spelling & consistancy.
