Click hereA lioness trapped inside a cage,
she paces back and forth.
She covers every inch.
Once in awhile she will stop,
Stare out into the distance.
Deep longing clouds her eyes,
her nostrils begin to flare.
She raises her head and begins to sniff the night air,
It is then that she smells that all too familiar scent.
She has grown accustomed to
And has began to crave.
She smells him;
she knows he is out there.
A low rumble spirals inside her belly,
springs forth,
and she lets out this loud, roaring growl.
It vibrates through the air,
through the trees
and finally finds its mark.
All goes silent.
He stands erect, proud and sure.
He knows this rumble.
It too has become familiar to him.
She has become a craving and a need for him as well.
Her howl coats his skin,
penetrates his soul.
He opens his mouth
and from the depths of his soul
he lets forth his own growl
and sends it back to her.
