I never worried about Penelope
while on this journey some few gods have made

my penance for a war I only played
to win. I dealt with other things—Circe,

Polyphemus, rock-bound Sirens swayed
by delirium of lust and need

to open their legs and sing so that we
would smash our small boat off their stunted quay

just to get to them. I don't need love that much.
I trust what waits for me in Ithaka

is all my blood, my son Telemachus
and his sturdy-bodied mother. Ah,

I long to luxuriate at home and slice
the fine-stretched throats of those who've loved my wife.

Loved this

found it Cohen-esque and that's a big complement well deserved.

going around giving everyone 1's. I was on one night and reading comments and somehow he latched onto me and every poem he read, he gave me a 1. I wrote and asked him for positive feedback and he responded, in bad English" I im not a staler or a perv..." so try not to draw this troll's attention but it is obvious he hasn't a life,. he doesn't write,. doesn't give real comments, just one line babbling about whatever is slumming around in his brain.

loved your poem, TZ

I marveled at this, Tzara. There's always a wonderful lyrical quality in your poems. What impressed me most was the lengthier second sentence in the poem, immediately followed by the blunt declarative sentence, "I don't need love that much."
