Her royal aspect almost made me waver,
A goddess like, emerging from the mist,
Perfume that had a faintly eastern flavour,
A skin of gold, and eyes of amethyst -

She merely looked to make my foothold quaver
As deeply awed, I told her how I missed
The lovely woman that would have me crave her
While she was too stand-offish to be kissed

No matter how much love and time I gave her,
And could she help? But through clenched teeth she hissed,
"You bloody fool - and you expect a favour?
Your name no longer figures on my list."
