I keep looking out the window,
hoping the next car will be yours...
my mind wanders off to thoughts of you
tooling past my door...
wishful looking, thinking even,
not one thing real I see.

I keep listening for the phone,
hoping the next call will be yours...
my thoughts scatter at the dream of you
speaking low to me...
hopeful listening, dreaming even,
no accent sounds for me.

I keep waiting for a message,
hoping the next text will be from you...
my heart wanting to hear from you,
seducing my soul...
wistful missing, hoping even,
no words appear for me.

I keep looking for your face
hoping the next dream will be of you,
my heart longs to see your smile,
melting my bones...
wistful dreaming, wanting even,
nowhere your face I see.
