Something stirs
Inside my soul
With you
Inside my mind
You take away
The sins of day
And push me
To the light
But my love
When darkness falls
I know not
Wrong from right
I hear my name
Spill from your lips
A melody so dear
An invitation
Longingly
A whisper
Oh so clear
For we don’t need
Salvation
Nor to be
Absolved
Our sins
Are not
Ours alone
Free from human bonds
Each choice we make
Each path we take
Each minute that slips by
Nothing
Can take away
The joy we feel today
The love
We know
Right now
Time will bring
Songs to sing
And voices
To speak the truth
Which lies in lies
And runs and hides
When together
Our future
Resides

re: Well...

Thanks for your comment...I like the freedom of poetry and used this piece to explore a more freestyle, non-traditional usage of words, rhythms and flow.

Well...

I have no idea who the people of missed connections are, and I can certainly understand not caring when people hate a poem without reason. I don't hate it, but I do think it could benefit from a reworked presentation. You may, however, have reasons for presenting it as you did - e.g.. in short lines, all starting with capitals, and no stanzas. For instance, the short lines give it a breathless feeling - maybe intended to reflect musings. I do like the way you have used rhyme selectively. Just my opinion.

The people of missed connections would have hated this one...and I, personally, don't give a crap about their opinions.
