For all the things you have done
And all the things you will do
I just want to say, thank you.

For all the sacrifices you have made
For all the times you have stayed so far away
I just want to say, thank you.

For all the battles to be won
In the distant lands or here at home
I just want to say, thank you.

For all the injuries you have gotten
For all the lost friends that will never be forgotten
I just want to say, thank you.

For all of those that are no longer with us
But watch over us from above
I just want to say, thank you, to them too

It is true, that you I have never truly known
But through these words, my heart to you, have shown
I just wanted to say, thank you.

Although, you I have never truly met
Thoughts of you and of pride, beats within my chest
For this I wanted to say, thank you. I love you and God Bless.

OK TMG HERE IS THE LAST ONE USING YOUR MIND SET

the narrator spoke from knowledge, wishing not for glory but paying homage to those who served. TK U MLJ LV NV with all due respect mlj

Tazz, I was laughing at my comment to you about me being a blonde. Sorry about that and thank you for explaining your comment. It was me thanking any and all soldiers of all the wars. I was with my parents at a Veteran's Day luncheon and they had Christmas cards out on the table to sign so that they could be sent to over seas. This poem started out in one of the cards that I signed to be sent. Only the first three stanzas.

#2 NOT TRUE

With his/the words written.....someone he has never met....is he accepting an award and giving an acceptance soliliquy... is he in front of an audience or a mirror,,,my take is what I commented on.....what is his reason for all the diversified thank yous.....maybe someone else sees it as different from me or the author has another agenda to represent. All I do is read and comment on what I comprehend.....I dont try to outguess any author. As for being a blonde, I dont visualize you as that....and lol has 2 different meanings....Laughing is one and Lots of luck is another....different strokes for the masses, Respectfully TK U MLJ LV NV

Tazz is making an allusion (not reference) to a quote

"ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for you ..." Why is a mystery
