This poetic piece mostly hypothetical and speculative, but based somewhat on fact!

Upon first blush while forces allied
 whence encountering me future bride
 at the contra dance
(now more’n a dozen years ago)
   felt a maddening crush
 upon bended knee, she
   (with joyous tears) nearly cried
per feeling like she won her own royal flush
seeking that je nais sais quois
   loving maternal guide
which sands of times ushered us
to feel a need to rush
   and begin our family
   from the birth canal
   both girls did easily slide!

We twirled and waltzed each other
   all thru the night
   unaware that the live band
   ceased playing music on stage
and kept pirouetting
until the dawn of morning light
 that memorable occasion forthwith
we both felt a new page
of our respective lives
would be filled with storied joy
   from this brave knight
and willing lass, whose immediate camaraderie
   we did immediate gauge
in whose brown eyes excitement did alight
at the prospect for blissful happiness
and offspring no matter her “advanced” age!

Deux dozen years from that day
I did proposition thine loving lass
this aging beau still adores the image
   reflected from the looking glass
no matter that the swiftly tailored
passage of time displeases me - alas!
