Over the trees, the sky:
transparent, deep blue,
an evening's stained glass
window.
Dead ahead
one bright star and
slantwise below
the crescent moon, flat
on her back - a pendulum
stuck in the outswing,
a minor seventh ending
to leave you on edge:
a resolution will
not come.

Brilliant!

I love the images, both visual and aural. I'm particularly struck by " a pendulum

stuck in the outswing", and the idea of the Moon flat on her back is not without intent, I'm sure! Naughty...but nice!
