Friday morning
Spring is coming
I like the tune
you are humming,
I like to watch
you at daybreak
your nakedness
nothing fake,

Where did we meet?
I don’t recall
was it Winter
was it Fall?
Was it the Summer
of sixty-seven?
probably not
you were eleven,

So we’ve been lovers
we’ve been friends
enemies
now and again,
Ships passing
in the night
high, at times,
as a kite,

And now we’re here
on Friday morning
what new things
are we learning?
The Kama Sutra
we’ve tried each pose
but always more
I suppose,

I check my mail
you head downstairs
strong black coffee
we’re quite the pair,
No rush Friday
to join the masses
breath those toxic
poison gases,

So, we drink our coffee
a simple pleasure
kiss and cuddle
for good measure,
Make love slowly
like old friends do
a Friday morning
made for two,
