So, you hate me then.
Me, who has helped you
the only way I know how.
Me, who gave you a place to stay
when you were in the streets.
Me, who didn't eat for days,
just so you would not be hungry.
So, you hate me then.
I have done everything a friend can do.
I have stood up for you.
When people called you a slacker and a bum,
I defended you against them valiantly.
I worked three four jobs while you slept on my floor.
I lied to people that you didn't want to know.
How bad things really were for you.
I kept your secret. I never said a thing.
Yet, you stand here, saying you hate me.
What did I do to deserve your hate?
Maybe I did too much.
Maybe I should have left you out there, in the cold, in the streets.
So, you hate me then.
You know it hurts when you say that.
I don't deserve your hate.
But guess what, I'm done.
You came to me, but now I'm walking away.
So, you hate me then.
Don't worry.
You can let the hate go.
I'm taking my shit, and you won't have to
Look at me anymore.
Although you hate me, I want you to know that despite all you've said.
I tried to love you, but you don't care.
I'm glad to know that you hate me then.
Now, I'm out the door.
Peace!
