Sitting at my typewriter
A sudden chill fills the room
The light bulbs flicker on and off
The house is shrouded in gloom

I feel as if I am not alone
Though there is no one at home with me
Feelings of foreboding dread consume me
As I turn around to see

Translucent wispy visions dance about the room
Apparitions of the past are here to taunt
The essence of my past tells of the life I've lived
With vengeance at it's core it begins to haunt

Muffled cries and whispers chase me
As I try to escape this life at last
For no matter where I go in this life
I am haunted by the ghosts of my past
