Against Daybreak

The light is my enemy.

Two lovers, as innocent and naked as on the day of creation clash together in a sea of darkness.

Two bodies grinding together, four hands groping for each other, struggling to explore every inch of each other.

They say that the blind see more than those with vision.

The pulsing of blood and the screams of passion provide the only sound in the dead night.

As time passes the grip becomes tighter.

Lovers refuse to let go and face the storm that approaches.

With the rise of the dawn she mutters faintly, “I love you.”

He never hears her, the sound of the rising sun and its cares echo loudly in his mind.

The knife and rope he used before are misconstrued in purpose now, they are forgotten for what they are.

The light guides him and all mankind away from their embrace and into the storm.

Man loses his innocence and he cries out for the coming of the high moon but it does not come.

God hears the pleas for darkness but has become a slave to that which he created.

Those that are fooled call goodness light and evil dark.

Those that are not fooled conjure the darkness in their hearts and are comforted.

Embrace it.

~~

An interesting read whose long lines distract;

Shorten lines {w/o much changing of words}

Also group words into strophes;

Together such changes will have a positive effect.
