From afar - voices clear
as if next door. A laugh,
a whisper, a sigh
flowing along the swelled lines
that bring the dance of words
to my ear. So sweet
your sound, your song,
so delicate and dangerously close
to all I pray to hear. Be careful
love, tug at my heart more
and it will be my footsteps
gracing the threshold of your door.
Beyond the mountains
carried before the westerly breeze, warmth
in a song of words
