When you see me.
You see a loner.
Unafraid and uncaring.
You see someone
Tough without showing.
The shadows unknowing.

When you look in my eye's
You see time has taken it's toll.
The blankness is a cover.
A lid a top of the pain,
For no one to see.

For the self-control
That I keep
You call me cold.
A rock.
But yet so weak.
And only,
The eye's can tell.

Under control ~ except for the eyes. When it comes to understanding - only the eyes have it ~ and betray.

Another piece with issues of plurals, possessives, & contractions;

Seems to have improved in later years.
