A Man and A Woman - III
~Autumnal Widow~

Sleep late Saturday
So begins her widowhood;
Groceries bought and put away
He surfs games, one after the other.

Sunday's tune still sounds lame
Cleaning house while he sleeps late;
Roused his combat soon resumes
Again three games, one after the other.

Still a widow Monday night
Iron clothes and put away;
In a world all his own
Watches gridiron combat.

Sees her hero in the round
Wonders of a different way;
Till he grunts, "Sounds fine, dear"
And she knows she's thought out loud
As she thinks about a lover.

The lava wil soon erupt...

This poetic narrative stings sharply as it exposes the reader to the quiet flow (from the outside)of the events, barely hiding the turmoils bubbling just below the surface...

Grass widow...

...a Jamaican term for women whose husbands are not dead, just "away"!

Actually, way too many marriages start the

beginning of the end just like this.

Nicely captured.

Gave me a chuckle

Reminded me of why I stay single. They are so nice for a 12 hour "date" but in the morning, it's so nice for them to be out the door! Patricia

The irony....

Stuck with her current model, she'll take out others on test drives and neither will be satisfying.
