A spirit rises
in a voice I remember,
the words I’ll never forget:
soft whispers in the frightening night,
that night, that night
it seemed the world exploded.
The sound of her breath
calmed my heartbeat.

A light brightens
as I search an empty sky
longing for a breeze,
a motion, a wisp of fog
that I can feel and know
somewhere she’s there
reaching to me
through the secluded night.

A tear remains
un-fallen, blurring my sight
as I feel her suddenly
touch me with the wind
and I am calmed again
hearing the sound of her breath
in leaves on the trees,
seeing her smile in the stars.

reminders.

Sweet reminders, the wind ~ the leaves ~ the stars a constant reminders of a past love.
