A Saudi Woman Turns ChristianbySamuelx©
Guillermo and I were stunned, to say the least, because we both thought I was sterile. The doctor, a pretty Mexican lady with glasses, told us that we were about to become parents. I explained to her a bit about my past, especially where I had difficulty conceiving. I honestly thought myself barren. The doctor's explanation for my present condition was lengthy and scientific, something to do with my diet, and how I might have been exposed to some contraceptives without knowing. My eyes widened, and with a start I realized what I should have realized before. Back in Saudi Arabia, my former husband's other wives always cooked the meals for us, since I was useless in the kitchen. They fed us. They must have been putting something in my food to prevent pregnancy. The thought enraged me. If I could get at those bitches! Guillermo hugged me tenderly, and I kissed him. I gently squeezed the crucifix which his mother Maria had given me on our wedding day, and thanked my savior Jesus Christ, the Holy Messenger of God, for His blessings. If my co-wives Khadija and Zahrah hadn't been feeding me contraceptives without my knowledge, I might have produced offspring for my former husband, and would have been bound to him instead of reveling in the freedom I now enjoy. God truly does work in mysterious ways. I embraced my husband, and we left the doctor's office, hand in hand. What a day!
