ADAM
Adam was a man of steel, he roamed the Earth on his own,.
He searched high and low, but found himself quite alone.
Next time he prayed to God he added an urgent plea,
'Why are you punishing me Lord? Why is there only me?'
God with one of Adam's ribs, would you believe?
Produced for Adam a beautiful maiden named Eve.
Gratefully, Adam said thanks to the Lord, with a prayer,
Eve uttered her first words, 'Adam, I have nothing to wear!'
Birds were covered with feathers, animals with fur,
Why then, had God not given Eve and he, enough hair?
At night they cuddled together to keep themselves warm,
and the realization that they were different began to form.
Adam found his load had doubled with two mouths to feed,
all he could find to eat were berries and a few seed.
Surely, if God had made land and the seven seas,
He would grant another prayer if he fell to his knees?
The Lord was afraid for Adam, he was so pale and thin,
he gave them furry garments made out of animal skin.
The Lord spoke to Adam, conversing at great length,
they would have to eat meat to build up their strength.
'Give them names!' the Lord said,'To all things!'
'The animals. the fish, the birds who fly with wings.
These wonders are all there to be found,
name all creatures, even they that live in the ground.
And so the Lord continued his role as the Saviour,
telling Adam he would learn from the animals behaviour.
Then one day Adam came upon Eve, really excited,
she was watching two bold tigers, bodily united.
It was then, at that moment, life on Earth really began,
so in God's will, they came together to procreate Man!
The stories of Cain and Abel have many times been told,
God in his wisdom has allowed each tale to unfold.
Life, through the ages hasn't differed a great deal,
we beg his forgiveness for the tresspasses our lives reveal.
Alas, without Adam, there would have been no Eve,
and without God, there would be nothing! Nothing to believe!

KOLKOREover 17 years agoAT first I was a bit confused with the double load of Adam, but then my mind was put at ease when I realized it was innocent, just needing to put more hours at the office. Remember, according to this creation, as soon as Eve makes her début out of Adam’s rib, her first concern is the lack of appropriate variety of her apparel (or something to that effect). I had to laugh at the tremendous amount of creative liberties (though I have to admit that I kind of a missed the apple and the snake!). Reminded me more than a little of the Flintstones.
