The words you wrote, the words you said.
I can read your letters everyday,
Replay our conversations in my mind.
The way I felt, I still feel that way sometimes.
My heart remembers you.
There are times when I long for what we shared,
Crave your kiss, ache to feel you against me.
But we don't exist anymore.
You've moved on, I've tried,
But the old stuff is still there.
You have a shirt hanging in my closet,
I play the CD you left behind.
The end came so quickly that pieces of you, of us,
Are scattered around my home and in my head.
I don't know what to do with them.
To toss them out would say I never loved you,
To keep them, that I always will.
