AWAKENINGS

You put your arms around me
And I trembled with expectation.
I was giddy and nervous with
The newness of our affection.
We kissed, gently at first, your warm lips
Soft and full and sweet on mine.
We touched, searching for unknown treasures.

You looked into my eyes, your gaze
Penetrated my heart and soul.
Our lips met again, our kiss became hungry.
Our tongues spoke our silent wishes.
Our touch became urgent,
Searching the secret places,
Now hot with desire not to be denied.

You awoke long forgotten feelings in me.
You teased me with your feigned innocence.
I felt vibrant and sensual and joyful
And young again, in your tender embrace.
You are beauty and kindness
And laughter and honesty,
You are all the things I need for now.

I am grateful for your gift.
