There's a little one, that I know,
She's my baby and I love her so,
She makes me happy when I'm feein' low,
And goes by the name, Banana Boat Joe.

Nobody knows where she got that name,
Nobody willing to take the blame,
I ask everybody but nobody know,
Where she gets that name, Banana Boat Joe.

Maybe when we take her to the child care house,
She slips out the back like a little mouse,
And then goes down the dock of the bay,
And work on banana boat, all the day.

Then each day at three o'clock,
She leaves the banana boat at the dock,
And sneaks back in so nobody know,
And that's why she goes by Banana Boat Joe.

Banana Boat Joe, Banana Boat Joe,
You're my baby and I love you so,
You make me happy, when I'm feeling low
And that's why I love you, Banana Boat Joe.
