The distance is calling, it's beckoning you,
each mile shows a difference, each city is new,
each top and each mountainside show you a view
         you've never seen before -
but the longer you travel, the farther you go
the clearer you see that already you know
what vistas and sights the world has on show
and though you yearn for more
you will not recapture the rapture of yore
when each horizon and every shore
could be opened up like so many a door
and flash like a flag unfurled -
you know what the tracks are leading to,
what people will say and what people will do
and whether you like it or not it is true
it's only the same old world.

Solomon said it, too!

"There is nothing new under the sun!" I like the way you say it, though! :)

Hope you don't think I'm being facetious...

but this brought to mind Dr Seuss: "Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You."

Even if you do say it rather more deeply.
