-stood splay footed in the rain,
under the rain,
in pointed toed boots that
Shined,
like his teeth-
Not graceful razors,
Nothing so kind
No.
Brutal.
like lawn mower blades
and that same shade of Green.

Chopstick fingers-
Leggy hands-
crossed Patiently,
With a mortician’s loving care
In every unspoken word
behind Dry,
cracked leather lips,
with shoeshine eyes-
Black Button eyes-
no,
Satin eyes,
Glass eyes fragile in the shadows
if not more so in the light.

The world’s only two-legged Arachnid,
Waiting for me,
Under Highway 141-
Passed over by the Overpass
and Smiling just the same.

Powerfully descriptive imagery

In lesser hands would be overkill;

Done so well here and even rated

Praise from YDD.
