slipped into my chamber
late, late last night
tip-toed to my bedside
didn't turn on the light,
heard clothing rustle
drop to the floor
climbed in bed beside me
who could ask for more,
kissed me on the shoulder
fingers teased my skin
seemed in no big hurry
to where we once had been
a thousand years ago
a distance galaxy
raining at the bus stop
you said 'hi' to me,
the beast arrived, we boarded
two seats side-by-side
across the soggy city
a slow, enchanting ride,
talked about the weather
our plans for the night
shared a cup of coffee
sterile Starbuck's light,
cars sped by, splashing
planets swirled around
neither of us was looking
but something, there, we found,
