tonight, you're nothing
like you are by day
and I like it.
I'm not your friend
tonight, I'm everything
that should ever matter
and you want it.
We're in love and war
tonight. I make demands
that hurt your knees
and bruise your mind.
I make you shut up, look up, open up,
yield to me though I'm unkind, surrender
whatever it is you were guarding this time.
Whichever part of you is tender,
you know that it is mine. Admit:
There is no escape,
because you don't want there to be.

Kurokamiabout 13 years agoThis is the kind of writing that makes me feel bad about my own. Poetry isn't usually my thing, but I'm glad I made a point of reading the two you've submitted. They're pretty damn great.
